Case Experience
As a Criminal Defense Attorney, Matt has handled hundreds of cases. Matt has tried multiple Felony and Misdemeanor trials with outstanding results. In addition to excellent trial work, Matt has been instrumental in helping clients obtain great results before trial. Matt has had multiple cases reduced from Seven Deadly Sin Crimes to parole-able offenses, even with several being released on time served when there was a minimum sentence of 25 years being a requirement. Matt has even ensured several clients were never arrested and avoided Rape Charges, Aggravated Offenses other serious offenses.
Prior being a Defense Attorney as a Senior Assistant District Attorney at the Cobb County District Attorney's Office Matt handled thousands of felony prosecutions, including Murder, Armed Robbery, Robbery, Drug Possession, and Theft charges. Matt conducted hundreds of hearings, including, Probation and Bond Revocation Hearings, Bond Hearings, Motions in Limine, and Motions to Suppress. In Cobb County, Matt tried multiple cases including, Rape, Attempted Murder, Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault, and Child Molestation.
In the Major Case Unit at the Fulton County District Attorney's Office Matt prosecuted Murders, Gang Murders, Child Murders, and Vehicular Homicides. In the Crimes Against Women and Children Unit he prosecuted Rapes, Child Molestations and Cruelty to Children cases. Matt also prosecuted serious felonies including but definitely not limited to: Armed Robbery, Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Burglary, and Domestic Violence.
As a Chief Senior Assistant District Attorney Matt was in charge of investigating and indicting all of the Vehicular Homicides and Serious Injury by Vehicle Cases in Fulton County. In his investigation, Matt to would routinely observe crash sites and crime scenes. He would review accident reports, accident diagrams, and expert accident reconstruction reports, and at times request additional police investigation.
As an Assistant Solicitor at the Fulton County Solicitor General's Office Matt prosecuted misdemeanor crimes, including but not limited to Driving Under the Influence, Driving with Suspended License, Family Violence Battery, and Battery.
As a civil lawyer, Matt litigated wrongful death, medical malpractice, premises liability, and personal injury actions for car and truck accidents. Matt has drafted countless complaints regarding personal injuries, he conducted Motion Hearings, Discovery Documents and Responses, Discovery Violation Motions, Depositions, Motions for Summary Judgement, and multiple Mediations and Civil Jury Trials.
